Johney U. Han
Mr. Han’s practice focuses primarily on patent strategy and creating patent portfolios for companies. He is also experienced with various aspects of intellectual property including due diligence, licensing transactions, counseling with respect to invention disclosure procedures, protection of trade secrets, patent drafting and prosecution, drafting patent opinions, and drafting and reviewing various agreements.
Mr. Han’s technical experience ranges from medical devices, mechanical, and electro-mechanical technologies. Mr. Han was previously General Counsel with USGI Medical, Inc. (San Clemente), an attorney with the life sciences practice group of Morrison & Foerster LLP (Palo Alto), and a patent agent with Skjerven Morrill MacPherson Franklin & Friel LLP (San Jose).
Mr. Han holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from Santa Clara University. Prior to law school, Mr. Han was a senior mechanical engineer in the thermal and dynamic analysis group at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space Division for several years. He is licensed to practice before the bars of California and Washington, D.C. and is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
